SONGS

Songwriting is something I was born to do. By 13 I was leaving the dots behind and playing by ear on my grandmothers piano. By the end of high school I had written around 200 songs, captured in my head or scribbled on pieces of paper. When I travelled to LA to in my twenties I thought I had 'made it big', but my version of what that meant dramatically changed. The central figure of my childhood Catholic faith - Jesus - became the new source of inspiration for all my energy and creative output. Ever since, it has been a wonderful and fulfilling journey to know the giver of the gift, the creator of the canvas. These songs speak about parts of my journey. I hope they speak to parts of your own.

MANNA is a reflection on the words of Jesus in chapter 6 of John’s gospel, where he speaks about being “the bread come down from heaven.” What did he mean by that? Was he using creative imagery or was he referring something new and radical? I wrote this during the pandemic for those wondering if they would go back to Mass when they re-emerged. This song reminds us all to open our eyes to God’s extraordinary Presence in the ordinary, especially the gift of the Eucharist.

Songs inspired by Spearhead

ARMOURBEARER is inspired by the story of Jonathan and his armourbearer in the bible (1 Sam 14), who covered his back on a do or die mission, and who for me is the real hero of the story. 

This song speaks to everyone who desires the courage to act, who need someone to 'go with us into battle' each day, or who just desperately want to see something new happen in the Church that will ‘turn the tide’.
